Kilmore Pioneer Centre – 70 years on

A Mass, celebrated by V Rev Oliver Brennan PP for the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday June 7 in St Patrick’s Church Stonebridge, was designated to mark the 70 Th Anniversary of Kilmore Pioneer Centre Pioneers of Kilmore and people of the parish joined with founder member Jimmy McAtarsney, previously from Annaboe, and now resident in Ballymoney; family connections of the other living founder member, Frank Cullen also from Annaboe and now resident in the United States; as well as a large representation from the families and relations of the other founder members who are now deceased, Kilmore Centre Pioneers, together with founder member, Jimmy McAtarsney, participated in: the Liturgy of the Word: Eileen Smyth and Alison McCullagh; the Prayers of Intercession: Sarah Louise and John Doherty and Emmett Hamill; Bringing forward the Gifts: Jimmy McAtarsney, Marie McGrane and Anna McConville. The gifts included a floral arrangement, of the Pioneer emblem crafted by Patricia Devlin. This very happy event concluded with refreshments, much meeting and greeting, reminiscing and viewing the memorabilia on display. Kilmore Pioneer Centre Council wishes to thank all who came to join this worthy celebration of their founder members, especially those who came some distance. Thanks to the members of the parish who helped prepare the display of memorabilia and to all who helped in the preparation and serving the refreshments.
