Temperance Commitment Recognised

Jimmy McAtarsney, one of the twelve founding members of Kilmore Centre in 1943, together with Marie McGrane and Charles McCullagh, both long serving members of the Kilmore Centre Council were each presented with the Father Cullen memorial Medal. The Presentation ceremony took place following Mass on Sunday 30 November and the emblems were presented by

Father Oliver Brennan PP. Speaking at the Ceremony: Father Brennan said that each award was fitting recognition for commitment to the Pioneer Ideals to: give good example, to practice self denial and prayer for those suffering because of excessive drinking.

Father Oliver blessed the emblems before handing them to the recipients as follows:
